Iwata Spray Guns

Are Iwata Spray Guns all that they are hyped up to be.  After all, everyone know that SATA is the preferred brand in the automotive paint industry.  Well, that was the case for many years, but things do change.  If not, we’d all still be using a Binks #7.  At least that was the gun to have when I started in the industry.  I’m sure that they had something that a painter must have to be called a real painter before my time.

Seriously, it seams that there has always been a spray gun that is in the lead or one that out performs the others.  Iwata’s airbrushes have been in the lead in airbrushes for a while, but the past few years Iwata spray guns have taken the lead in the automotive painting world as well.  Sure, there are still going to be die hard SATA fans that will never change, but when I put the guns in students hands and let them try it, they are selecting the Iwata paint gun as their gun of choice.  Students do not favor either gun to begin with, so it is much easier for them to make a decision simply from gun performance.

My favorite gun of choice is the Iwata Super Nova with a 1.3 set-up.  I like the 1.3 for base coat and clear coat.  They make a 1.4, which is designed for clear coat, but I prefer the 1.3.  So, if I were only going to purchase one gun, I would get the 1.3.  However, try it yourself, as there is no absolute for everyone.  What works for me may not always work good for you.

If you visit my website at Iwata Spray Guns I have more information, reviews, training, how to adjust a paint gun, and much more.  I invite you to stop by and watch the videos.
